A family-made product
It started in our living room.
Balance Buddy wasn't designed in a lab or manufactured overseas. It was built by a parent, for a toddler, on a weekend — and it worked so well we wanted to share it.
How it started
When our youngest was around 10 months old, we noticed she wanted to pull herself up and move along furniture — but our couch was too soft and our coffee table was too high. She needed something at just the right height, the right width, and the right length to hold onto.
We looked around for something purpose-built and couldn't find it. So we headed to the hardware store, picked up some PVC pipe and fittings, and spent a Saturday afternoon figuring it out on the living room floor.
The first version wasn't pretty. But she loved it. Within a few days she was cruising back and forth, getting stronger and more confident with every pass. We adjusted the width as she got steadier, and lowered the height as she grew. It became part of our daily routine.
Friends and family started asking about it. We made a few more. People kept asking. That's when we realized this wasn't just something our family needed — it was something a lot of families could use.
We looked around for something purpose-built and couldn't find it. So we built it ourselves.
What we believe
Simple is better
Balance Buddy is PVC pipe and fittings. No electronics, no batteries, no apps. Just a sturdy, adjustable rail that does exactly one thing well.
Parents know their kids
We're not here to tell you how to raise your child. Balance Buddy is a tool — you decide when to use it, how wide to set it, and when your toddler is ready to move on.
Supervision is non-negotiable
We're parents too. We know that no product replaces an adult within arm's reach. Balance Buddy is designed to be used with you right there — not as a substitute for your presence.
Honest about what it is
Balance Buddy is not a medical device. It's not therapy equipment. It's a simple, adjustable practice aid for typically developing toddlers. We say that clearly because we think honesty matters.
Still a family operation
We're a small family business. Orders are packed and shipped by us. When you email us, you're talking to the people who built the product. We're not a warehouse or a fulfillment center — we're a family who made something we're proud of and want to get it into the hands of families who can use it.
Questions? We'd love to hear from you.
